NorthSky legal
NorthSky course terms addendum
Version 1.1 — in force from 3 October 2026, the day it is published (WSD-101). It applies to every course purchase made from that date. A purchase made before it stays under version 1.0 (in force from 27 September 2026, WSD-098), which did not have the limit in section 6.1. It restates owner decisions recorded in WSD-080 (Q3 to Q5, Q13 to Q15), D9 of the OI-209 plan and WSD-101.
This addendum governs a NorthSky online course bought through the NorthSky store, for example “Just Culture for UAS operators”. It applies in addition to the sales terms that governed the purchase (consumer or business) and to the licence named in the product (single-user or standard single-organisation). Where this addendum and those documents differ on a course, this addendum applies.
This document is not legal advice.
1. Parties
As in the licence: RMX DRIFT AS, organisation number 931 140 574, acting through its registered business unit NorthSky Aviation Consultancy, organisation number 931 140 701 (“NorthSky”), and the buyer named in the order. Contact: post@northsky.no.
2. What the buyer receives
- Access to the course in the languages the product page lists, through a link NorthSky sends after payment. The course runs in a web browser. No learner account is needed.
- A final assessment for each participant, and a course certificate (“kursbevis”) for each participant who passes it, within the limits in section 3.
- The course’s working documents (the Implementation Pack), which the buyer may adapt and use inside its own organisation.
3. Licences for a course
| Licence | Who may take the course | Course certificates per purchase |
|---|---|---|
| Single-user | One named participant | 1 |
| Organisation | Up to ten named participants in the buying organisation | Up to 10 |
More than ten participants are offered by quotation. The access link is for the licensed participants only and may not be passed on outside the buying organisation. The lessons, questions and figures may not be copied, published or used to train others outside the buying organisation. The working documents in the Implementation Pack may be adapted for the buyer’s internal use without limit.
The organisation licence here replaces the “unlimited internal use” of the standard single-organisation licence for a course: it covers up to ten named participants (WSD-080 Q5).
4. Access period
Access has no end date. A course is served online, so every buyer of a major version (for example 1.x) sees its current form, including the corrections and updates NorthSky makes within that version. A new major version is a new product. If NorthSky withdraws a course, the versioning and withdrawal policy applies.
5. The course certificate
- A course certificate confirms that the named participant completed the self-study course and passed the final assessment. It is not a regulatory certificate, licence or attestation of competence, and it does not replace any training, examination or authorisation required by law, an operational authorisation or an authority.
- A certificate shows the participant’s name, an optional organisation, the date, the course and its version, the language and a certificate id. Anyone who has the id can check on NorthSky’s verification page whether the certificate is valid and whom it names. The participant agrees to this when the certificate is issued.
- NorthSky keeps certificate records for five years after issue or after the last change of status, whichever is later, and then deletes or anonymises them. Online verification is available during that period. After it, the participant’s own copy still documents that the course was completed, but NorthSky no longer confirms it.
- The privacy notice explains how certificate data is processed and how a participant can exercise their rights.
6. Change of mind and refund
- A buyer may ask for a full refund within 30 days of the purchase, by writing to post@northsky.no with the order reference. Where a course certificate has been issued under the purchase, this right does not apply to that purchase. This is the same limit as in section 7 of the consumer sales terms.
- When a refund is made, for whatever reason, access to the course ends and every certificate issued under that purchase is marked as revoked, in the same step. NorthSky tells the buyer this before the refund is made.
- NorthSky handles refund requests by hand and aims to answer within two working days.
- This section does not limit any right a consumer has under mandatory law.
7. Misuse
If a purchase is used in breach of section 3, for example by passing the access link on outside the buying organisation, NorthSky may end access and revoke certificates issued under the purchase after telling the buyer in writing and giving a reasonable chance to put it right.
8. Changes to the course
The course is written for the rules as they stood when a version was published (for the Just Culture course, SORA 2.5 as introduced by EASA ED Decision 2025/018/R). NorthSky reviews the course every six months and when the rules change. The current text of the rules and the authority’s guidance take precedence over the course.
9. Everything else
Liability, warranty, governing law and disputes follow the sales terms and the licence named in the product.
